Subversion is free, open source software.

Subversion server components are available to run on a wide range of different hardware and operating systems.

Enterprise Architect is not affected by your choice of server components, but requires Subversion's Windows-based command line client for integration.

There are many graphical user interface clients available for use with Subversion, such as TortoiseSVN; this type of client cannot be used directly for integration with Enterprise Architect, but can be very useful in preparing a working Subversion environment for use by Enterprise Architect.

Common Source Code Control (SCC)-compatible products

Any version control product that provides a client that complies with the Microsoft Common Source Code Control standard, version 1.1 or higher, can be integrated with Enterprise Architect.

The following products are SCC-compatible and are known to successfully integrate with Enterprise Architect:

Accurev
ClearCase
MS Visual Source Safe
MS TFS-SCC
MKS Source Integrity
Perforce
Source Offsite
Snapshot CM

Products that do not appear in this list should still integrate successfully with Enterprise Architect, if there is a client available for that product that complies with the MS SCC API specification.
