Set Up Simulation

Setting up a model for simulation is a simple process. An Execution Analyzer script is configured for the package containing the required simulation model.

To configure a simulation execution script, you must select the package on the Project Browser, Package Browser, Diagram List or Model Search.

Access:    Analyzer | Execution Analyzer (Shift + F12) : New (Toolbar icon)
                  Analyzer | Execution Analyzer (Shift + F12) : locate and double-click on required script > Simulation

To set up a model for simulation, using the Execution Analyzer dialog Simulation page, follow the steps below:

In the Entry Point field, click on the ( ... ) button and select the required entry point for the simulation, and the required Activity, Interaction or State Machine to simulate



In the Platform field, click on the drop-down arrow and select UML Basic



If required, select the Record Execution checkbox to record the simulation session

Control the Recording Session


Click on the OK button to save changes



  • If you do not specify an entry point, the simulator attempts to simulate the entire package
  • All simulation elements and relationships must reside within the package configured for simulation
