Multiple Database DDL

Is the "Common Type" edit on the Database Datatypes dialog supposed to enable easy migration from one DB backend to another?  

If it is, I cannot seem to get this working as I've changed from one DB to another and the datatypes on the table attributes seem to just stick.

It seems to me that the ability to migrate between different DB's DDL would be a very nice feature.  Of course, there would have to be the ability to tweak the syntax in certain cases (like the previous index DDL post).

You are correct, the the intended use for "Common Type" is to allow for easier migration from one DB to another and this is the way the programming languages works.  However at the moment EA does not have any processes to handle this for database languages.  We have made a note of this fact and we will be looking at including this ability as soon as possible.

Thanks for the clarification.  I was also wondering if it is possible to add new DB's and their types via an import file rather than through the UI.
