Glad you like it.  :D

What parts do you like?

For that matter, what parts have you tried?

We'd love to hear everyone's comments.

I just started looking at it, the first glance I liked the new organization of Toolbox, I LOVE the Project Discussion Forums, I really like the Report&Search View, love the Document Artifact and Linked Documents... I like the way the context sensitive menus have been reorganized.... overall, a big improvement in usability, at least that's my first impression.
There is an occasional inevitable crash, but this is a beta after all :-)

I will share more of my impressions once I have played with the new version more.

Oh, noticed a new language or two under Code Engineering - but as I have been out of touch for the past little while, I am not sure if these have been introduced in 6.0 or a while back. The same goes for the Grid (which is great!)

Try running the 'Find Orphans' search.

You can also add the Element -> Orphan property to any search using the advanced view.

Chance would be a fine thing...

I get page not found on the Beta link.

I got through once today.  Anybody else experiencing the dreaded 404?

No bruce,

But here is the bug (I've reported to Sparx)

I've located the problem.  It's at your end.  If you go in via the Registered Users link on the main page, the link on that page is wrong!  it's missing the: /registered/

NO Database Changes?
« Reply #10 on: November 01, 2005, 03:09:00 am »
It would appear from a quick look that there are no changes to the Database.  Is this correct?

Is it therefore possible to intermix usage of a v5.0 file with the v6 Beta?

TIA,
Paolo

Stereotypes need the guillemets
« Reply #11 on: November 01, 2005, 03:17:46 am »
A minor irritation...

The new (default?) Class layout, with the Attributes grouped by stereotype is good, BUT the stereotypes need the « and  »  guillemets around them to clearly indicate they are stereotypes...

Consistency, Consistency, Consistency! TM   ;D

Validation Errors - Link useful
« Reply #12 on: November 01, 2005, 03:42:16 am »
Model validation seems to validate the entire model, not just the selected element (as implied by the "Validate Selected" option).

It would be really useful for the user to be able to double-Click on the particular error and be take to an example of the problem.  It could be done by finding the element/connector/feature in a suitable diagram.

Tried to install the Beta, but it wants me to uninstall my production version of EA 5.  Not sure I want to do that.

Is it not possible to have both installed?

If I well recall, there was the same problem when beta of 5.0 came out. Sparx then created a 5.0 beta that could live alongside the 4.6, but only one of them would be registered as an Automation server. Perhaps Sparx can do the same this time, too?
