Choose EA from Sparx.

It is less expensive and more capable for managing a project from inception to completion.

It also supports Delphi better than Rose  :)

Hope this helps.

I second Eduardo's vote for EA... I have used both Rose and EA (and Rhapsody as well) and find that I am MUCH more productive using EA than Rose (or Rhapsody).  Plus EA's price can't be beat.

Asking which is better in EA's forums is kind of like asking which is better, Windows or Linux at slashdot.  Your answers are going to be a little skewed towards one direction.  I'll leave it up to you to determine which direction for both these examples.

Having said that, and assuming you are serious about your question, let me skew it even more:

EA's price can not be beat.  Rose is AFAICT being phased out by Rational's XDE, which is even more expensive.

Sparx's support team is heavily involved in the forums.  Try asking Rational if they can fix some bug you found in two weeks like Sparx can (does).

The feature comparison would take two pages to compare them, with EA winning on most points.

Rose probably works better with other Rational tools.  That might be a consideration.

Rose has plug-ins, but EA has automation that can stopgap a lot of things you would do with plug-ins.

Did I mention price?

Bugs fixed in 2 weeks? In my experiences, Sparks fixes serious problems within 24 hours!!!!

There is a feature comparison of Rose to EA available on the EA main page.  It is written by an independent UK based consultancy (who are also a Delphi consulting house too).

I agree very wuch with the point about Sparx support - they are excellent in this respect, and I think they will make sure this continues :)

I spent several days evaluating UML tools in April.  The initial criteria were Windows based, under $1K, and support for code generation.
Embedded Architect made the competition look silly, i.e. it is a great choice.
Interesting side note, I almost didn't evaluate it because it was so inexpensive...
