Tags again - disabling
« on: April 29, 2005, 06:33:25 am »
Hi All,

I have a next question: I'm planning the system, with a lot of tags, and I'd like to disable to add new tags for my co-workers. So I'd like to give a list, which they can choose from, but they aren't allow to add new ones.

Can I do this?

Thanks for your helps,
Agnes  ???

Unfortunately this is not possible. What you can do is to define tags and also constraints on how they can be used (numbers, patterns, date, drop down, etc). But everyone is allowed to add free tags. Maybe this could be asked as EA enhancement to only allow tags which have been defined previously. In the meantime you have to scan the tags either by running a macro or by inspecting the database directly (ask me on monday what the table name is).

You might extend this one:
Code: [Select]
SELECT t_object.Name, t_object.Object_Type, t_objectproperties.Property, t_objectproperties.Value, t_objectproperties.Notes, t_objectproperties.ea_guid
FROM t_object t_object, t_objectproperties t_objectproperties
WHERE t_object.Object_ID = t_objectproperties.Object_ID
