Title: EA User Group - www.eausergroup.org

Hello,

we have set up an "EA User Group" website, a place for all the EA users where they can easily post their Add-Ins, code generation templates, software tools etc. etc.

Read-only access is available to everyone, in order to post or participate in the discussions, you will need to sign in. Just send an e-mail to register@eausergroup.org with your name and e-mail address and you will receive your username and password shortly.

Please have a look at http://www.eausergroup.org

Any comments, questions or suggestions are most welcome!

Bruno

Can you please describe why you think it's necessary to have a(nother) separate site ?

I'm not trying to be difficult or negative, but I am concerned about the possibility of dividing users across multiple sites, ie. dilution of content.

I think that this site is an excellent repository of knowledge.  Maybe there features that could be added to make it more valuable ... ?

Thanks,
Steven.

And also http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1077009102 will shed some light on the reasons for a second site.

in one hand, it's great, on the other hand - need to check two places, have 2 accounts & etc.

And currently site isn't functional

I did register right away, given the criticality of EA for my current assignment and the excellent features of it in general.

However, I do join the question made previously: why was this necessary?

Didn't this forum do a good job already, and couldn't it be extended if need be? Or should Sparx gradually stop effort in this forum and move to the one of the user group instead?
I know I would if I where them, there's no point in doubling effort.

It does indeed increase the burden of where finding what information.

Except that link target does not exist (currently?).

Remeber the recent YABB crash? The message is obviously lost :'(

Checking on the General board, seems as if the earliest message "head" is 8th of Feb THIS YEAR - so everything before that is lost :-(( or at least inaccessible.

My YaBB "Postings count" is currently 332, but if I do a "Show all postings" from my profile YaBB only shows 244, so it looks as if it's lost nearly 100 of my posts.

I wonder how many Thomas has lost ?

The other boards seem OK.

Come on Sparx - surely you have backups of all that earlier stuff ???

I guess not. Crash is crash and merging an old backup with all new posts will surely be a horror.

Hello Everyone,

It appears that our restore to the general board was incomplete.  Until now we were unaware of the problem.  We are currently investigating how we can restore the lost posts from our backups.

This will be done with as little further disruption to the forum as possible.

We will provide updates when we can.

Until then, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Regards,

Simon McNeilly

Hi!

I tried to join the EA User Group some time ago but until now i did not get any username or password.

The latest reply i received from the administrator of the EA User Group was:

Thank you. We have received your e-mail and will respond shortly.
In the meantime, please feel free to visit EA User Group website at www.EAUserGroup.org.

How can i join in? I really would like to give a try to the C++ AddIn project

Cheers  :)

Hi Tiago,

I just checked, and your username and password have been sent out. Can you check your Junk Mail folder just in case it got caught there?
I will send you details via e-mail as well.

Thank you,
Bruno

I joined quite recently; before that I was merely lurking. They got back to me with credentials in minutes.

My suggestion is to check your SPAM filters.
The messages I received were from: administrator@eausergroup.org.
The subject was: SharePoint Site: http://sharepoint.knowledgerecovery.com/external/eaug

HTH,
David

EDIT: Oops, I read the last post on the page, and now see that Bruno had already solved this. Sorry for the chatter...

Title: EA WIKI
Post by: Bruno.Cossi on April 28, 2006, 04:08:40 am
Hi,

on an unrelated note, we have also brought to life an "EA WIKI", using the same system used by, for example. Wikipedia. You can access it at:

http://wiki.eausergroup.org

There is little in terms of content (read: "there is nothing in there"), but with your help that might change very fast!

Jobs/Contracts related to EA

and it's populated...

Check it out...

Only a notification of my applying to the user group has been the response I have received so far.

So if you can't join it, it is worthless.

The EA User Group is a bit out of date. You can check out data without being registered (AFAIK!). Have a look in the Wiki instead. And remember: both are maintained by users, not Sparx!

Hi to all,
I posted in in general forum, but since I see many people downloaded it I better do it here too.
I'm using EA corporate edition and in our process after I move the design to the developers (I dont actualy move it, just aprove , we use the same DB) and they develop it, they have to update all requirements to status implemented.
they asked for some central place to do it so I created this little application with shows all requirements per module and allows to change their statuses.
The app is connected to the DB and you can navigate through the pakcages marking the requirements and updating the statuses.
The code can be easaly changed to aprove al objects in project, not just requirements.
here is a link to d/l it:
www.terrenis.net/temp/WindowsApplication5.zip

the zip contains the VS2005 project (so you can freely change it to your needs) and some scripts (for MSSQL2000/2005) to update necesary views and procedures (just a few) in DB.

Enjoy

On the Page
http://www.eausergroup.org/
the links to the Wiki and to the sharepoint site don't work. I only get the following error on both sides: "Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."

I found the sharepoint site at
http://sharepoint.standardcase.com/external/eaug/default.aspx
but it is a little bit empty and unorganised.

The linkedIn-Group is (my Opinion) senseless, because I don't want to write emails to foreigners to ask things or get information which aren't shared like in a forum.

Alltogether I think this forum is still the best place to get informations, but I hope to get the running wiki some times, because the Help of EA is a mess and it is annoying to ask every little thing here.
