General Board / Re: How show properties in the rectangule requirem

Oh, yes notes I can show too. However, beyond that I would like to show the properties that appear in the properties' window inside the second compartment of the rectangle.

Just like the SysML documentation demonstrated. Not only notes, do you see?

Is this possible?

I hope so and thank you anyway.

Ok, thank you.

However, I have tried it before I posted. I am testing in EAExample, and I select a requirement, right click, Advanced, Use Rectangle Notation then it works fine.

After that -> right click, Feature Visibility, Show (in Attribute Visibility and/or Operation Visibility) it did not work.

Is there another thing that I can do to get what I want?

Best Regards,

Please, someone could tell me how do I need to do to show in the second compartment of a requirement rectangle the properties which appears in the properties' window? It is not tagged values, I mean the standard properties.

Uml Process / From goals in BPM to a requirement diagram
« on: March 18, 2010, 11:28:20 pm »
Hi,

Business processes attain specific goals. Can specific goals be considered a requirement? If so how can I link a goal in Business Process Model to a requirement in EA?
Basically, it is because I intend to:

1 Modeling the processes in a BPM diagram;
2 Link each of the goals to a requisite;
3 Then build a requirement diagram;
4 Then start the traceability of the requirements;

Regards,
ESM :)

Uml Process / Re: standard for business use case and business ac

Well, I did my research and here is the summary:

1 - The OMGs documentation about the old UML Extensions is in: http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?ad/97-08-07.pdf;

2 - The UML Extensions is not supported by the OMG anymore; instead they are promoting Business Process Definition MetaModel (BPDM). The last issue about it was in 97/08/07 and now it is deprecated;

3 - Anyway the modern UML tool, like EA, stands for the two standards of notation, let's see:

3.1 - For EA see: http://www.sparxsystems.com/uml_tool_guide/uml_dictionary/business_interaction.html and  http://www.sparxsystems.com/uml_tool_guide/uml_dictionary/otherelements2.html.  , just like Dermot said.

4 - Basically, this is because many professionals, like me, still use the old fashioned UML Extensions, but still there are a few of them that uses BPDM; additionally, the modern tools ask for the compliance in which regard OMG standard.

Am I wright about? Any contribution?

I guess this close the ticket...  ;)

Ok. I guess I knew it but, didnt OMG aggregate it in UML Extensions in the past? I believe it is true, but where are these "UML Extensions" today? EA uses this notation also, so where it came from? What establish this?

I see these two symbols being used for many authors but where this came from? They dont tell and the infrastructure and superstructure dont mention that.

Ive tried to Attach the .jpg with these two elements to avoid misunderstandings what Im talking about, but I dont know how to do this here. I hope someone can help me in it.

A Best Regards,
