Enterprise Architect 8 Released by Sparx Systems

A milestone release of Sparx Systems' industry leading modeling environment, Enterprise Architect 8 redefines the productivity, scalability and performance expectations of tools in the global modeling domain.

Creswick, Australia, May 10, 2010 Sparx Systems, a leading vendor of modeling tools based on open standards, today announced the official release of Enterprise Architect 8, a major update to the company's award winning, integrated modeling and development tool.

Renowned as a high-value, standards compliant, team modeling environment, Enterprise Architect 8 provides hundreds of targeted enhancements for tightly integrated model-driven development, improved performance, user experience, project scalability, standards compliance and team management.

"An important goal in version 8, was to deliver the same responsiveness and ease of use in very large, shared models as in smaller and mid-range models. Integral to this goal was the provision of Traceability tools, searching and other mechanisms for cross referencing information and linking model based information back to real-world artifacts, explained Geoffrey Sparks, CEO of Sparx Systems.

Exciting new tools such as the structured Use Case scenario editor enable analysts to rapidly define precise interactions and then quickly generate sets of downstream artifacts - such as test suites, state diagrams and activity diagrams. For developers and engineers, the new tightly integrated code editors, model-driven intelligent auto-complete, updated debuggers, run-time analysis and dynamic execution visualization tools provide a complete and highly efficient model-driven development environment.

In conjunction with Enterprise Architect 8, Sparx Systems has also released a tightly integrated add-in that supports the Object Management Group's standards-based enterprise architecture framework, the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM). MDG Technology for UPDM provides a rigorous UML-based framework that helps organizations to plan, design and implement UPDM architectures in Enterprise Architect 8.
