Title: Updating Author in EA Model
Post by: harry_tate on April 22, 2021, 06:04:01 am
Does anyone know of a way to force an update of Author with current userID when a model element gets changed?

No. I don't think 'Author' and 'Last person to edit' are the same thing. If you need to know who is making changes to your model, you might consider switching on Auditing: ribbon > Configure > Model > Auditing

it's nice to know about auditing and we have enabled it.... but, that doesn't quite solve the issue with WebEA presenting a misleading impression by displaying nothing next to last modified date. It would be nice to see 'Last person to edit' in that space. In our shop, the created by Author is retired in many cases, not useful information otherwise and has been misleading in some cases.

Could we implement a db stored procedure which moves 'Last person to edit' to Author triggered by change to Modified Date?

You can do with your DB what ever you will. (But please don't post the same question twice here)
