PCS General Board / Re: Prolaborate 4.0
« on: September 09, 2021, 01:41:55 pm »
is it compatible or do we have to create a new DB and install on a new server then migrate the settings etc?

Yes , its totally compatible . Can run on the existing DB itself.
Just a schema update and conversion app needs to be run which is also included with the V4.0 Installer.

is it possible to export a list of a specific EA object type to JIRA or Polarion into a custom field (type)? Maybe with a external Tool/Add-In like the EAConnector or does Prolaborate/Pro Cloud provide such a feature?

Yes, Using Prolaborate its possible to link the existing EA items with existing Jira Items. Once the link was added , EA Element will have that Jira item link in its tagged value and the Jira Item will have the Prolaborate link of EA Item in the Web links as below

PCS General Board / Re: Separate PCS for EA and Prolaborate?
« on: June 24, 2021, 04:57:46 pm »
Do you recommend to set up 2 instances of the Pro Cloud Server, one without any license for the EA users, and another one with a license for the integration with Prolaborate ?
I wonder if Prolaborate or EA access performances could be affected if all requests go through the same PCS.

NO !

AFAIK, There isn't any performance issues while using through a single PCS.
And even if we had separate PCS as you've suggested , still those will be connected with the same database right ? It will be actually hard to maintain .

Can new objects be created in SPARX EA and pushed into ServiceNow?

At the moment ,creating in EA and pushing the complete information into SN is not possible ,but Updating an existing element in SN which is linked with EA objects is possible ( Means We need to connect the SN integration and using integration need to create SN items in EA , Once created ,configured properties can be updated in EA and can be pushed into SN .  ) .

And will ServiceNow have the same tags and properties that are used in SPARX EA or will it just be an object name?

Yes, when the SN item is linked with EA , all the properties can be configured as tags, which updating the SN items from EA, only the configured properties will be updated.

PCS General Board / Re: Collaboration and discussion in WebEA

Hi guys is it possible to comment and discuss an object in webEA or is it reserved to prolaborate ?

Many thanks

Hi Typia ,

Yes, its possible to do collaborations ( Discussions,Reviews,Comments ) for objects in WebEA , Prolaborate and also in EA .
In Prolaborate , additionally we can create collaborations on Dashboards and on top of Reviews too :)

The client tried to create a custom search (I believe that is what it's called) but with no effect, so how do you get the Service Now items listed in the EA System Integration Window?

Hi Phil

In the case of ServiceNow Integration, it won't work with filters/queries, Instead, it will fetch Service Now Items like CI, Knowledge Base etc. Please refer to the below image for the list of supported items that are fetched.

Yes itís completely possible.

Hi Phil

Yes, basic authentication using a password was deprecated in the JIRA APIs. We need to create an API token and should use that token in the password. It will work.

Please refer to the below link for creating your API token in JIRA

If your admin has set only read permissions for you then you won't be able to edit the properties and another case is the entire model will be a Read Only model.

Can you please check the access permissions with your admin?

Can a user update the external item or just view it?  The documentation on the website would suggest only viewing is possible.

Yes, you can update all the external items and their properties (the properties must be configured and created while creating the external items.

While the ability to link to disparate external providers (such as Jira) is enticing, our interest is, for the present, limited to being able to "integrate" a number of EA repositories
Integration with multiple EA repositories can be done, If all the required repositories are configured in PCS and should map those configured repositories in the Data Providers

Does that mean it CAN'T be used with local repositories?]

Yes, external integrations can be done only in the server-based repositories configured in PCS.

General Board / Re: Hide Browser/Property View in WebEA via Config file
« on: January 01, 2021, 08:43:11 pm »

You need to just set these to false

show_browser = "false"
show_propertiesview = "false"

even if your configuration doesn't have these you can use it .
