General Board / How to color 'Diagram Hyperlink'-objects in EA13
« on: January 05, 2017, 10:02:30 pm »
we are using a lot of 'Diagram Hyperlink'-objects on Component-diagrams. In EA12 and earlier it was no problem to color these objects. First, we colored the objects manually with the 'Appearance / Default Appearace' dialog. Since EA12 we use the 'Apply Auto Color'-option in the Legend-definition with appropriate 'Tagged Values'-values in the 'Diagram Hyperlink Properties'.
Now we updated to EA1309 and the 'Diagram Hyperlink'-objects are colorless/transparent and we find no option to fill it with color. Is there still a way to color the 'Diagram Hyperlink'-objects?
Thanks in advance

General Board / Migration from Oracle to MySQL: CLOB vs. text
« on: February 24, 2016, 07:19:27 pm »
we are migrating our EA-Oracle-repository to MySQL. We have problems transferring ORACLE-CLOB-attributes to MySQL-text-attributes:
CLOB-size is 4GB; Text-size is 64 KB
Why are these attributes defined in the MySQL-Schema with type 'text'? In our opinion 'longtext' (=4GB) would be the correct type.
Is it possible to change the affected attributes from 'text' to ‚'longtext' in the MySQL-Schema.sql-file without side-effects?
Kind regards,

General Board / 'Hide Connector in Other Diagrams' by Default
« on: June 27, 2013, 06:09:11 pm »
Is it possible to set the 'Hide Connector in Other Diagrams' as a default for diagrams?
I'm creating a set of Activity-Diagrams for overall view. I reuse existing Activity-elements and link them with connectors.
I don't want to ruin the existing Activity-Diagrams with additional Connectors, so I set 'Hide Connector in Other Diagrams'-Option via context menu manually. Exists a smarter way to hide connectors in all other diagrams?
Thank you

General Board / Colouring ActivityFinal-Stereotype by shapescript
« on: October 27, 2011, 10:33:40 pm »
we have created our own toolbox. For the ActivityFinal the colouring shapescript didn’t work as expected. We expected a red final but in the Activity-diagram the final still appears colourless. Does anyone know why this occurs and/or have a solution?

This is the shapescript:

shape main{
    SetFillColor(255, 0, 0);

General Board / Extract diagrams, objects and descriptions
« on: March 16, 2010, 11:45:08 pm »
We are using the EA mainly for documentation. And we have a problem to extract parts from the model.
Our activity diagrams are using activities, composite object diagrams and actions from other packages.
Now we want to extract the activity diagram with all objects are used in this diagram and in its composite diagrams/objects even if they are located in other packages.
We want to extract this objects to an RTF-document and we want to extract it into an own new EAP-project.
Rich text report utility and deep copy function only work within the selected package.
Is there any possibility to generate a document without the prior manual task of rearranging all objects?
Thanks for your help in advance.

My problem: If I setup my individual Toolbox with an element of the type Synch(V) and I configure the Quick Linker with the "Source Element Type"  Synch(V) the context menu (quick linker) will not contain my target element. If I use the source element type Synchronization I will get the target element only if the element is like synch(H) not synch(V).

Question: Which Element Type do I have to use in the quick linker definition for an element of the metaclass type Synch(V) ?
