General Board / Toolbox profile
« on: July 16, 2014, 01:54:12 am »
Hi I am trying to define a profile and i have some problem with the toolbox.
I defined a stereotype called  Function that  extend the metaclass "Activity" and specialize the stereotype "SysML UActivity". I inserted it in a toolbox, but when i use that toolbox i can see Function but i can't drag and drop it on a diagram.
Which can be the reason?
Is it possible to associate "Function" tu a structured activity?

OK i explain better my configuration.
I have a RDBMS created with V10 and several cliente that modify it via V10. Can i connect to the Database with my V11 and modifying it?
The metamodel between V10 and V11 didn't cvhange?
There is not possibility to corrupt the model?

Hi,
is it possible to connect an EA 11 client to a a EA 10 server?
If it's not possible, is it possible at least to import a package developed with the 11 to a model developed with the 10?
Thanks.

General Board / Ports
« on: November 23, 2012, 01:39:47 am »
I use EA since a week, but i have some problem with the ports.
I create a port X inside a block A, but if i instantiate the block A inside the block B (i create a part) i can't see the port X inside the part typed by A.
How is it possible?

Uml Process / [SysML] Activities
« on: July 09, 2014, 01:00:09 am »
Hi I have some doubts about the use of SySML activites and Activity Diagrams in EA
Example:
i define  a BDD of Activities.
I have the Activity1 that is made (partAssociation relation) by Activity2 and Activity3. Activity 3 is made of Activity5 and Activity4
My questions are?
1) can I populate   automatically the activity diagram of Activity1  with an action node for Activity 2 and one for Activty3?
2) How can i define an input or output pin for an Activity? It seems i can do it only for actions.
3) How can associated a type to an object node for an Activity?
4) When i create the Activity Diagram for Activity 3, how can i show the pins of Activity 3 in this diagram?
5) How can i associate a block to a partition?

Thanks,
Francesco

Uml Process / [SySML] State does Activity

It seems that in EA is not possible that a State does an Activity but it can do only Operation.
Do you confirm it?

The problem is that you just create an empty EA.Repository object, but it isn't initialized.
So you either have to
- Initialize the Repository object by calling Repository.OpenFile()
- Connect the repository object to the currently running instance of EA
- Get the initialized repository object from the application (like when reacting to an event)

Thanks, but can i just connect to the active instance of EA without opening a file? Can you tell me the code to do it?
In the code examples i see  that the just connect by "OpenFile".

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / VB.Net Macro
« on: July 02, 2014, 01:21:17 am »
Hi All,
i am a newbie of EA and i should make some macros to automatize some operations.
Unluckily the search function it returns me an error so i am sorry if there are already answer in the forum.
I am trying  to write an "Hello Word" macro in VB.Net that print me the list of the packages in the active project and it return me this error "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException"
I am useing VB.Net 2012 and the Trial version of EA.
Is this a problem?

Here it is my code:
Code: [Select]
Option Explicit On

Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

        Dim MyRep As New EA.Repository

        MyRep.EnsureOutputVisible("Script")

        For i = 0 To MyRep.Models.Count - 1
            Dim Package As EA.Package
            Package = MyRep.Models.GetAt(i)
            Print("Model: " & Package.Name)
        Next

    End Sub
End Class
