How can we show a different value than element and package names in the Project browser.

Objective: Based on some parameter, we would like to show a tagged value or the alias instead of the element or project name.

What is the most effective way to delete all baselines from the repository in one go.

Is all baseline information stored ONLY in the t_document table (where t_document.ElementID = t_package.ea_guid) ?

Suggestions and Requests / Show relationships only of a certain type
« on: April 19, 2012, 03:51:36 am »
When adding a relationship between 2 elements, it is extremely annoying to see that all diagrams including the related elements now include that relationship as well, even when that diagram is not meant to show such releationship.
In very large models, this leads to numerous manual changes to each and every diagram to hide these relationships.

Let's says we create an information flow diagram that is supposed to include only Components and Information Flows.
When adding for example an association, a realization, a dependency or a generalization, we don't want these relationships to appear on the Information flow diagram.

Proposed solution
Ability to set a multi-valued property on diagrams to tell which types of relationship need to be visible or hidden.

General Board / Transfer images between repositories

Is there any way to easily...
- Export selected images from a Repository A, and then
- Import these images in a Repository B?

General Board / HTML Report w/o stereotype in Project Browser
« on: May 01, 2012, 12:40:22 am »
When generatting an HTML report from an Archimate model,  the model element names are prefixed with very long archimate stereotype names in the Project Browser/Outliner.
Our HTML reports are meant to non-technical users who don't (need to) know what a stereotype is.

Is there any simple way to produce the HTML Report without any stereotype in the element name prefixe?

Bugs and Issues / How to change UML Nodes into Archimate 2 Nodes?
« on: July 06, 2012, 12:55:14 am »
We can set the stereotype of a UML Node to Archimate1 "Archimate_Node" but this is not what we want since Archimate 1 is legacy.

What we want is to set the UML Node stereotype to the Archimate2 "Archimate_Node".
But it does not work. The Archimate 2 profile does not appear in the drop-down list.
We could not find a way to apply Archimate2 profile to a UML Node.

Does anybody know?

I would like my Shape Scripts to print text in 1 among 3 different languages (English/Dutch/French) depending on the value of a global variable e.g. "Language". Note that a diagram stereotype is not global variable, it is particular to that diagram only.

Is there no other way than to write an add-in just to return a single global character "E/D/F"? :-/

For each diagram type that we create in an MDG, how can we define a custom icon that shows in the project browser?

In other words, how can we define new diagram icons than do not belong to the built-in diagram types?

Does anyone know where we can we find the shape scripts (or equivalent) used in the Archimate 2.0 profile, and especially fo the drawing of these little Archimate icons.
This is to create our own profile for Enterprise Architecture that would look like Archimate but that would have more semantics and meaningful verbs in the traceability pane.
Could be then shared if someone is interested.

Does anybody know how to change the folder/package icon in the project browser depending on the folder stereotype?

In the Sparx UI, when trying to change the value of the "Type" property of a Packaging Component, the system says "this type cannot be changed to another".

Does anybody knows how to automatically change all Packaging Components into Components (wtithout loosing all the relationships)?

Any available code or little app to perform this?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Applying updates of a UML Profile
« on: December 19, 2011, 07:44:44 pm »

When we update a UML profile, is there any way to avoid the existing tag values to be lost?

Even when we simply add a tag value in our profile, the existing tag values (in our huge model) get lost when we re-apply the profile.

Does anybody know how to disable Shape Scripts based on some diagram property or custom tag?

Basic Requirement
- Context: a specific diagram
- Default behavior: Shapes are rendered following shape scripts associated with stereotypes.
- Alternative behavior (when a diagram property or custom tag is set to X): Default shape rendering is applied; Shape scripts are ignored

Solutions that we are trying to select custom or default shape rendering in a diagram
1.      Use existing diagram option in the core Sparx product
Problem: Option not found; no documentation found

2.      Access existing diagram properties from Shape Script
Problem: How to access current diagram properties in a Shape Script? No documentation found

3.      Define custom diagram tags and access these from Shape Scripts
      Problem: No documentation found
