Well as you will see from my many posts on this topic - its not easy. You will need to write some SQL that updates t_xref, t_objectproperties and t_diagram. See below for a sample (for SQL Server)

pdate t_objectproperties set ea_guid = '' where t_objectproperties.Object_ID In
(select t_object.Object_ID from t_object, t_xref where t_object.ea_guid = t_xref.Client and t_xref.Description like '%DBBPMN1.1%')

update t_xref set description = REPLACE (cast(description as nvarchar (max)), 'DBBPMN', 'BPMN')where description like '%DBBPMN%';
update t_diagram set StyleEx = REPLACE (cast(StyleEx as nvarchar (max)), 'DBBPMN', 'BPMN')where StyleEx like '%DBBPMN%';

This in effect rolls me back to a Sparx standard BPMN1.1 profile. I've done this because i then want to run the migrate function to upgrade from 1.1 to 2.0 (ill then have to run further SQL to migrate to the v2 version of my profile).

This will only work if your profile has elements as defined in the Sparx profile - ie Activities, Events, Lanes, Pools etc - ie its an extension of the Sparx profile.
Regards

Jon

Ps backup before - i accept no liability this advice breaks your system!

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Re: Package and Element Locking
« on: January 17, 2012, 04:32:58 am »
Have you tried just running your vb.net code ? I've noticed that when i'm adding updating requirments (and other elements) in a package (or creating new sub packages) that is locked by another user via the automation interface all is ok ?

Thanks for the feedback. I gone through the help files on shapscripts - i've been able to apply a shape based upon a stereotype, but the hasTag method doesn't appear to work for me - i suspect it may be because the element in question is an Activity on a BPMN diagram, the BPMN MDG already has an eashapescript applied to activities to add "decorations" when various tagged values are picked.

Am i right in thinking that you can't apply multiple shapescripts to a single element ? If so is there a way to decode the shapescript in the MDG file so i can extended it for my purposes ?

Jon.

Hi All,

Does anyone know where to look in an MDG file for the xml that specifies which embelishment to add to a graphical element (say Activity) when a specific tagged value is picked ????

I'm assuming its in the BPMN v2 MDG file somewhere as an embelishment is added to Actvities if various tagged values (such as TaskType) are selected.

Any help pointers appreciated !

Jon.

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Image text in MDG file...
« on: September 15, 2011, 02:47:10 am »
Hi,

I need to create three variants of an "Activity", which we have defined in an extension of the standard BPMN1.1 MDG XML file. Each needs to be a different colour and have some default tag values set.

I can add an activity to a diagram and set its default appearance to the colour i need. But how do i then save the Activity's bit map into XML/Text for inclusion in my MDG file ?

Appreciate any help,

Jon.

Hi All,

Is there a way (in xml) to specify the type of diagram that should be automaticlly created when you make a (specific) type of element a "composite" ?

Thanks,

Jon.

I beleive there is a JavaScript example that shows you have to do this. Have a look in EA under View->Scripting -> Local Scripts -> JScript - Element Extras Example - line 176 onwards....
