Don’t be afraid! I do not intent to leave the club!

I need to transfer EA model data to eclipse papyrus to use some safety analysis features there.
I tried several kinds of exports without success. I am interested only is the data of the model (not in the diagrams).

Any hint?

Due to the silence with this issue I assume this is just a bug and I will post it to Sparx.

I have a ConditionalNode in an activity diagram with some Clauses.

As long as no actions are in that node I can resize the node in the diagram by dragging as I expect.

However after adding some actions in, my resizing gets out of control and  the node get each time I try to resize it longer and longer (vertically).
Do I just miss to press some magic key when resizing or is that a bug?
I remember, I had similar problems with sequence diagrams where I found a magic key some time ago in V11.
Now I am using V12.

Do not understand what you are asking for!
What kind of column you want to create?
And what do you mean with in identity?

I think you need to write some kind of script to do that.

General Board / Re: How TF can I list my latest posts?

No Idea what TF stands for, but I assume you are searching for your post you mentioned.
I found this,30347.0.html
which goes somehow I this direction.

How did I find that?
In seach “By user" I added “qwerty” and in "Serach for" I added “to” (just because of, I need 2 characters for some reason and the word “to” is very common)
and Message age 1-50 (0-xxx will not work)

Ok! strange approach!

General Board / Re: Baselines
« on: March 01, 2016, 11:48:10 pm »
But a view people unfortunately are forced to be interested in the past as well.

We baseline some well-defined higher level packages (requirements package, architecture package,…). Those packages can have deep package levels underneath but element references (classifiers, associations,..) are only allowed to a defined set of other “higher level packages.
The baselines are used to prove what state of the packaged was e.g. verified and to analyze what has changed, because we have to provide change details, once a product is shipped (safety related stuff).

Another use case is to baseline “the View Package” where all our stuff of a certain system level is in. This is because we have “another View Package” where shared model stuff is in (some kind of read only Library).
Before we update to a new Library version, we baseline “the view Package” and the current “another View Package (LIB)” (just to be able to go back in case of disaster), afterwards we switch to the new Library Version and then we restore the baseline of “the view Package” we created shortly before. By doing so, associations added from our model to the old library version will be kept (hopefully in any future version of EA).

General Board / Re: Separating ActivityParameters in Action Pin

No idea why one should prefer one way over another.
When doing your style, I get the same results as with my style. The different is just in your way the pin are stacked over each other so it is hard to see that there are more than one pin.

Look on this discussion:,30346.0.html
Notes, Constraints, … are somehow hidden in several aspects but of cause they are somewhere stored in the data base.
I think you need to create a custom query to get the data from the data base to get the results shown by a custom template afterwards.

Not sure what you are talking about.

When you call an Activity from an action you can use the structural element dialog to get the  Activity Parameters as action pins (each activity parameter you select will be an action pin).

How do you get one action pin containing all activity parameters at all?

Ok! Thank you!
Just I wanted to be sure that there is no low effort solution.
I will go the MDG way.

General Board / Re: Usage of document Meta Data in document templates
« on: February 29, 2016, 07:23:23 pm »
Hello RoyC,
these report constants I already use in my EA V12, but I need some further information like department name, document type, verifier,... These data I could put as tagged values to my document root package, but I have no way to access that data e.g. in headers, footers. Just a way to access tagged values as Report Constants would be a way to solve my problem.

Hello Glassboy,
I do not have a problem in where to put my meta data to, I have a problem in putting my meta data on cover pages or headers and footers. Do you have a way how I can put the meta data from the "class element" to a header, footer, cover page?

I work in an environment where nice pretty and formal documents are required.

These documents need some meta data (project name, project number, document number,….). These data is either project specific or document specific and must go to the cover page or header/footer.
All my project specific data I put in Project Constants. When defining document templates I can use those constants on cover page or header and footer (all fine).

The problem I have is with the document specific data. This data I could hold as tagged values in a package. But I find no way how to access those tagged values because I need to be in the package or I would need a custom query, but none of both I can use in cover page nor in header/footer.
Any idea?

Hello Geert
I have already profiles packed in a MDG technology which e.g. introduces a non SysML requirements management language.

I am looking on something that is “cheaper” (low effort).
With uml profile a cheap solution would be, just to define a stereotype which I could use for anything. But I look as well for a solution where I can mark quick anything without treating each of “anything” (classes, activities, ....) individually.

I have no columns in my model views at all.
It is just a tree!
