Inserting an existing document (Word, Excel, etc.)
« on: August 02, 2014, 06:51:01 am »
Is there a way to insert an existing document (Word document, Excel spreadsheet, webpage, whatever) as a class in EA? I know I can link a model element to various files under Properties -> Related -> Files, but I would like to be able to put in a class that when double-clicked opens up an Excel Spreadsheet. How would I do this?

You can't do it directly but you might attach a hyperlink that opens the file. Just drag a file over a diagram. That allows to create a hyperlink.

Hi,

with EA 11 you may drag a document to a diagram. There EA creates an artifact and you can decide if:
- The document is stored inside the model
- The artifact contains a link to the file (see file section of properties)
or a simple hyperlink.
