Automation, API and EA Cloud
« on: July 25, 2016, 05:20:28 pm »
I've an old integration tool which reads an EA model from an .eap file.  It was using an OleDbConnection to the EAP file.

Now we are migrating to an in-house cloud (http protocol on port 904).

What should I use now to read an EA model from the cloud ?

A direct connection to the database (not nice) or the Automation Interface (no documentation found on how to connect to a cloud) or anything else (not found either) ?
Is there any documentation on application integration or automation with a cloud ?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to connect to your cloud server via automation.

The below code sample will connect to the "Sydney Cloud" server which is described on the following page
http://www.sparxsystems.com/products/ea/cloud-trial.html

Code: [Select]
Repository.OpenFile( "Sydney Cloud --- ;Connect=Cloud=protocol:http,address:sparxcloud.com.au,port:80;Data Source=Example;DSN=Example;" );
Replace the various parts of that connection string with the relevant details of your own server.
