Reverse Engineering a MySql db (RDS on AWS)
« on: January 17, 2018, 10:18:00 am »
I have setup an ODBC datasource and can access it via the ODBC Administrator, but when I attempt to reverse engineer it to EA, it errors off with;
"Data source name not found and no default driver specified"?????

Are you using the 32-bit MySQL ODB Driver?  See the first Note at the bottom of page...

Hi Tabevetts

If error occurs even after checking what hd suggested please check the below points.
  • Check whether its created in User DSN or Syatem DSN
  • Check the driver name , instead of DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 5.3 Driver} try DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 5.3 Unicode Driver} you can see the name of the driver from administration tool
