v15ᵦ - AWS MDG - is that operational, yet?
« on: May 23, 2019, 10:46:32 am »
Should we be able to play with the new AWS MDG yet?

I enabled the MDG and created an AWS diagram.  Dragging some MDG items from the toolbox onto the diagram revealed (what looked like) some placeholder shapes.

You need to import the icons into your model. Select the AWS perspective and EA will open the Model Wizard. The first Model Wizard pattern has the complete set of icons. We're working on making it more obvious.

Same applies with the Google Cloud Platform perspective and icons.

Got it...

I take it one has to import into each repository.

[Edit:  After I imported the icons, the toolbox icons didn't change from their "generic" values.  Should that have happened?  That is, should the toolbox have the appropriate icons against the vertex?]

Any answer on the above question.

Also, v15ᵦ3 says:
  • Amazon/AWS and Google/GCP toolboxes now check for imported image library during use
  • Amazon/AWS patterns updated
[/i]

Does this happen automatically (and transparently)?

I got no notification of any changes when I opened the test repository with the AWS stuff in it with v15ᵦ2.

TIA,
Paolo

It won't update any existing usages of the patterns.

If you don't have the image library imported into your model it will prompt when you try to use the patterns.
