Separate ports for item flows or one port multiple items?
« on: August 17, 2019, 12:21:57 am »
I have a port called pCAN, and in my internal block diagram a part with a port called pCAN. I connected the two with a Connector.

I have two choices here. Have multiple signals realized (Information Item Realized...) on that connection, or create multiple ports with each having their own single information item realized? What is more correct?

It seems that since the port is pCAN, I should have multiple information items realized on the same one. However, we have a lot of signals coming into our system, the list could get long along the connector:

signal1,
signal2,
signal3,
signal4,
...
signal100

Actually according to https://www.omg.org/spec/SysML/1.5/PDF it seems they separte CAN signals, look at Appendix D.4.6, they show each signal individually with its own port.
