Glossary & Notes on Class
« on: February 10, 2021, 06:29:32 pm »
Hello,

I started to use EA as my co worker built a domain model, I have to maintain the glossary in the model.

Some of the classes contain the the notes a definition and there is also via publish>Glossary>Edit.. another list of definitions.

Are these 2 items linked (it seems no), is it possible to link them?

Yes, since version 15 you can create glossary diagrams.
On those diagrams you can put your domain model classes. Each class on that diagram will be included in the glossary.

You can combine these with the standard glossary entries.

See here: https://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.2/modeling/glossary_package_struct.html for more info.

Hello,

Thanks sorry for the long delay to reply.

So, your recommendation would be to not use the note field I imagine, I think that the items in the Project Glossary View were manually added as there is no Glossary Category Package in our model. These Terms would be visible (or addable) in the Glossary Package?

How do you link an Class in a Domain Model to a Term in the Glossary?  So far we have many items in the Domain Model with the Term as the "name" for the Class.

Is it possible to see the Meaning of a Term in the Class of the Domain Model?

Thank You
