v15.2 Ė Arc labels do/donít override line
« on: July 29, 2021, 01:24:57 pm »
When lines have labels and those labels are placed across a line, sometimes (i.e. when the line type is "solid") the label blocks out the line and is clearly visible.  At other times (i.e. when the line type is NOT "solid"), the line overlays the label and makes it unreadable.

Reported,
Paolo

[EDIT:  It seems that even if your line type is "solid" but you are a reflexive relationship, then the solid line will overwrite the label - EAUI!]

Response from Sparx...

Hello Paolo,

Thank you for your enquiry. Our developers have provided the following feedback, please see:

Yes, there are multiple factors that we use to determine if textual labels are rendered with a transparent background or a fixed colour background. These differences are intentional, and although we retain the right to further tweak the behaviour we do not consider this to be an issue and will not be changing the behaviour at this stage.

Hope that helps. If you have further questions please let us know.

Hi XXXX,

so you are saying that one of the factors (to force a fixed colour background) is NOT "the text is astride or behind its line"?  Please confirm that, so I can print it out and put it up at my desk for all to see.

Sheesh!

Funnily enough, no further response...
