Multi selected elements in a diagram connecting to another element
« on: September 16, 2021, 12:29:08 am »
Dear forum members,

I'm looking for a way to connect a relationship from multiple selected elements with CTRL to 1 element. I can't seem to find a way to do it for SysML block definition diagrams.

I've tried selecting a relationship from the toolbox while 2 or more blocks are selected with CTRL, but no success.
The Quick Linker widget dissapears when multiple are selected.

Curious if this is possible, if not, how it could be solved (with an Add-in)?
Perhaps possible to enable the Quick Linker for multi selected elements?

Thanks.

You need to create relations one after the other.

EA behaves strange in quite some aspects. Once we coined the acronym EAUI for EA Unique Interfaces a long time ago. Not much has changed since then.

Although not the solution you are after, there is a kind of quicker way to create connectors of the same type from multiple elements of the same type

1) Select one of the elements and create the connector
2) Press function key F3 (repeat last connector)
3) Create connector from a another element
4) Repeat steps 2) and 3) until finished.

Strict connector syntax rules will be applied by if enabled, so to override this you can turn off strict connector syntax.

Should have mentioned that. I rarely create multiple connectors but when I use the F3.

And if you want those connectors to look like a single connector, you can use the linestyles Tree Style - Vertical or Tree Style - Horizontal
