Changing default properties for a set of diagrams
« on: June 26, 2009, 10:06:50 am »
Frequently I create a set of diagrams that I want to have a common set of properties (e.g., the Elements should show Notes, the diagrams should be Landscape).  I can make changes in the Properties dialog for each diagram, but is there a way I can make changes for a set of diagrams (or apply a custom property set to a new diagram)?

I'm guessing I need to use Stereotypes, Profiles or both but I didn't find much via a Help search that told me what I needed to know....

Thanks!

Paul

I have a similar problem. Is it a similar answer? I have DFDs using association connectors where the dataflow name is easily legible. However on ERDs I use Class models/requirement and find the relationships tiny and illegible on a print. Is there any way to increase the Font size?

Yes, I think this is what I was seeking.  Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work (bug?) in the case I want.  I want the Note to be visible for Elements on the diagram (Requirements diagram).  If I create a template and then create a new Requirements diagram based on the template, I am able to use the template to control the visibility of Tags, but not Notes.  The new diagram shows up without Notes visible (verified in the diagram Properties dialog) no matter what I set in the template.

That's odd. With template diagrams, the Show Compartments options "Testing", "Maintenance" and "Notes" don't work for Requirements diagrams, but they do work for Class diagrams. Can you send in a bug report please and somebody will look into it. Thanks.
