Set Up Cross References
It is possible to set up a cross reference (or Custom Reference) from one or more elements in a diagram to another element selected in the Browser window. You can also review the existing cross references on an element, using the 'Context References' dialog or the Traceability window.

Open the diagram that contains the elements that will reference the target element. |

In the Browser window, right-click on the target element (the object of the cross reference) and select:
The 'Set up references' dialog displays. |

Click on the checkbox against each element that is to refer to the target element. |

Optionally, in the 'Comment' field, type the purpose of the references. |

Click on the to set the references and close the dialog. |

Notes
- You can create cross references from an element on the diagram to a number of elements in the Browser window, and from another element on the diagram to different elements in the Browser window
- You cannot create a commented cross reference from one element on the diagram to an element in the Browser window, and a separate commented cross reference from a different element on the diagram to the same element in the Browser window
- You can delete a cross reference by selecting it on the 'Custom References' dialog and clicking on the ; cross references are also automatically deleted if the source or target element in the reference is deleted
- You can also add, review and delete cross references on the 'Cross References' tab of the 'Scenarios' page in an element's 'Properties' dialog
