Import Image Library

Using the Image Manager, you can create attractive diagrams with custom images. You can quickly extend the range of images available through the Image Manager, by importing a bundled clip art collection of UML-based images as an Image Library file downloaded from the Sparx Systems website.

Download the Image Library from the Sparx Systems website onto your system.

In Enterprise Architect, open the project into which to import the Image Library.

Select the ribbon option 'Configure > Model > Transfer > Import Reference Data'. The 'Import Reference Data' dialog displays.

Click on the Select File button and locate the ImageLibrary.xml file to import, in the directory to which you downloaded the file.

Click on the Open button.

On the 'Import Reference Data' dialog, select the 'Model Images' data set that now contains the Image Library.

Click on the Import button and, when the import is complete, the OK button.

Create and/or open a diagram in which to use images from the Image Library.

Click on the element to which to apply one of the images contained within the library.

Either:

  • Press Ctrl+Shift+W, or
  • Right-click on the selected element and select the 'Appearance | Select Alternate Image' option

On the 'Image Manager' dialog, in the 'Loaded Images' panel, click on the appropriate image name and then on the OK button.

The element appearance changes to the selected image.
